Diagnóstico situacional do serviço de enfermagem de hospital de ensino sob a ótica dos profissionais de nível médio / Situational diagnosis of the nursing service of a teaching hospital under the perspective of mid-level professionals

Estudo do tipo exploratório-descritivo que objetivou levantar informações acerca da gestão do Serviço de Enfermagem de um hospital-ensino público. Participaram 27 profissionais de enfermagem de nível médio (auxiliares e técnicos de enfermagem) que responderam a um questionário. Dentre os resultados obteve-se que 18 (67 por cento) sujeitos mencionaram a existência de IAs que não existiam na instituição; 13 (48 por cento) referiram que a estrutura hierárquica do Serviço não era adequada e que os IAs são muito importantes à organização do serviço; 8 (30 por cento) não conheciam o organograma da instituição e também 8 (30 por cento) criticaram a atuação do enfermeiro. Como sugestões para melhorias no gerenciamento do Serviço de Enfermagem mencionaram: mais envolvimento dos enfermeiros com a profissão; atuação dos enfermeiros com base em normas e condutas éticas, e gestão participativa. Conclui-se que há necessidade de se estruturar melhor o serviço através da normalização, da capacitação dos enfermeiros em liderança e incremento da comunicação entre os membros da equipe.

This was an exploratory-descriptive study which aimed to raise information regarding the management of the Nursing Service at a public teaching hospital. Twenty-seven midlevelnursing professionals (Nursing Aids and Technicians) took part in the study by filling out a questionnaire. Among the results, it was observed that 18 (67%) subjects mentioned the existence of MIs (Management Instructions) that did not exist in the institution; 13 (48%) declared that the hierarchical structure of the Service was not adequate and thatthe MIs are quite important to the organization of the service; 8 (30%) did not know the institution’s Organogram; and 8 (30%) criticized the nurse’s performance. As suggestionsfor improvements in the management of the Nursing Service, the following were mentioned: more involvement by the nurses with the profession; nurse performance based on ethical norms and conducts; and participative management. It is concluded that there is need for improvement in structuring the Service through normalization, leadership training for nurses, and increased communication among team members.
